The much-anticipated new construction project of the north station building of Jingzhou Railway Station on Jingmen-Jingzhou High-speed Railway is in full swing. With 80% of the main structure works expected to be completed by the end of this year, the project will enter the decoration stage next year.

The project is located in the northwest of downtown Jingzhou, facing the existing station buildings across a railway line. The reporter saw a scene of large pile drivers, cranes and excavators in intense operation. The foundation construction has been completed since the project started this May, and the main structure of the station building is under way.

The proposed building has a floor area of 16,000 square meters. The main part was designed with a reinforced concrete frame structure, and the large roof with a steel truss structure. The building has two floors, with the waiting hall, general service hall, exit hall and passenger service rooms on the first floor, and the offices and rooms for communication engineering, signal engineering, power engineering and electrification engineering on the second floor.

To ensure the safe and smooth construction of the project, the project department from China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Group Co., Ltd. has gone all out for epidemic control while working around the clock.

The project is a key nodal project on Jingmen-Jingzhou High-speed Railway. In the future, with the north station building as a link, the railway with a designed speed of 350km/h will be connected with Wuhan-Yichang Railway. After the completion of the high-speed railway, a northward express channel will be added to accelerate the integration of Jingzhou, Jingmen and Xiangyang, strengthen the interconnection between Jingzhou and its neighboring cities in Hubei, and enhance the pivotal role of Hubei "connecting the east to the west and radiating the north and the south".
